Fox News correspondent Peter Doocy and his wife, Hillary Vaughn, have welcomed their third child, officially making their growing family a “party of five.”
The couple welcomed daughter Molly Kate Doocy on Oct. 22, adding another child to their already busy household.
Molly Kate joins her older sister Bridget, 3, and brother George, 18 months, according to the couple.
Peter Doocy announced Sunday that both mother and daughter were doing well as the family celebrated its newest addition.
“We are so grateful she is here,” Doocy told PEOPLE, celebrating the newly expanded “Doocy, Party of Five.”
Doocy, 39, and Vaughn, 37, shared details about their daughter’s arrival in an interview with PEOPLE published Sunday.
Molly Kate was born at 10:04 p.m., weighing 8 pounds, 4 ounces, after arriving several days past her due date.
Doocy revealed that his daughter’s arrival began with some unexpected drama while he was preparing for a live television appearance.
Vaughn called her husband to tell him the baby was coming just one minute before Fox News anchors were scheduled to toss to him.
Doocy was preparing for a 9 a.m. live report from the White House when he received the call.
“I don’t think I’ve ever talked through a script so fast,” Doocy recalled of finishing the television report.
After completing the segment, Doocy immediately grabbed his belongings and began racing away from the White House.
He joked that his sudden sprint toward the White House gate probably attracted attention from Secret Service personnel stationed nearby.
The frantic morning ultimately ended with Molly Kate arriving safely later that evening.
Vaughn told PEOPLE that the couple’s “hearts are bursting with joy” following their daughter’s birth.
“She is adored from head to toe,” Vaughn said of the newest member of the family.
Doocy also joked that Molly Kate’s timing worked particularly well for a political reporter preparing for another major election.
“She arrived a few days after the due date — but just in time for midterm election results,” Doocy said.
The 2026 midterm elections are scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 3, less than two weeks after Molly Kate’s arrival.
Doocy said bringing their daughter home immediately transformed the atmosphere inside the family’s house.
He said their home suddenly “felt ten times more full” after Molly Kate was brought into the nursery prepared for her arrival.
Introducing the newborn to Bridget and George proved considerably less orderly than the parents initially envisioned.
Vaughn said the couple had eagerly anticipated the moment their two older children would finally meet their baby sister.
Instead, George became emotional when he first saw Molly Kate and began crying, which quickly caused the newborn to start crying herself.
Bridget nearly joined her siblings in the impromptu crying session, turning the planned family moment into what Vaughn described as typical toddlerhood.
George has since adjusted to the newest member of the household and embraced his new role as an older brother.
Bridget is similarly excited about having a younger sister and is already looking forward to sharing her collection of bows with Molly Kate.
The newest arrival continues a string of major family milestones for Doocy and Vaughn over the past several years.
The couple met while working at Fox, with Doocy building his career at Fox News while Vaughn worked as a Fox Business correspondent.
They married in South Carolina in April 2021 before welcoming their first child, Bridget, in February 2023.
Their second child, George, arrived in April 2025 on Doocy and Vaughn’s fourth wedding anniversary.
Doocy joked at the time that sharing the anniversary with his son meant he would never forget to buy Vaughn an anniversary card.
The family has another prominent Fox News personality in longtime “Fox & Friends” host Steve Doocy, Peter’s father and Molly Kate’s grandfather.
Steve previously said becoming a grandfather gave him an opportunity to provide his grandchildren with plenty of unconditional love — and plenty of spoiling.
