Supporters responded with chants of “USA!” as security pushed the man through the crowd and escorted him out. The protester’s specific remarks were not immediately clear.
Protester Escorted Out During JD Vance Speech in Kansas
Security personnel quickly removed a protester who interrupted Vice President JD Vance during a speech in Olathe, Kansas. The demonstrator shouted toward the vice president, though his exact remarks were not immediately clear.
As security pushed the man through the crowd toward the exits, nearby attendees waved him off, and Vance supporters erupted into a chant of “USA!”
Vance Defends Sen. Roger Marshall
Addressing the disruption, Vance accused the protester of attempting to spread false claims about Sen. Roger Marshall.
“Now this guy, this guy, I’m telling you, ladies and gentlemen, here’s what happened,” Vance said. “He decided to come in and lie about my very dear friend Doc Marshall.”
Vance then defended Marshall’s record in the Senate, stating, “Because the reality is that Doc Marshall has stood up for everyday Americans every single day he’s been in the United States Senate.” His comments pivoted the focus back to Marshall, whom Vance was visiting Kansas to support.
Comparing Past Demonstrations
Vance also referenced a previous protest to draw a comparison with the interruption in Olathe. He quipped that a demonstrator at an earlier event had “the common courtesy to bring a Mexican flag so we knew where he stood.”
The event took place at Webco Manufacturing and was organized by Make America Great Again Inc., a political action committee supporting Republican candidates. Vance’s visit to the Kansas City metro area focused in part on anti-fraud initiatives and rallying support for Marshall.
