<\/p>\nThe USS Abraham Lincoln is heading back to the United States after completing one of the longest and most demanding deployments in recent U.S. Navy history.<\/p>\n
The nuclear-powered aircraft carrier left Thailand on Sunday following a five-day port visit that gave its crew an opportunity to rest after months at sea. The ship is expected to return to its home base in San Diego.<\/p>\n
The Lincoln spent a total of 286 days deployed after leaving the United States in November 2025, including 264 consecutive days at sea before arriving in Thailand. About 5,000 sailors and Marines are assigned to the carrier and its strike group.<\/p>\n
The carrier supported U.S. military operations in the Middle East, including operations connected to the conflict with Iran. During its extended deployment, the ship faced repeated operational demands and remained at sea for months without a full port visit.<\/p>\n

The lengthy deployment also drew attention to conditions aboard the ship. Reports raised concerns about food shortages, plumbing problems, and deteriorating mental health among some crew members. Navy officials pushed back against some of the reports, saying the service was taking steps to support its personnel.<\/p>\n
The five-day stop in Thailand was the crew\u2019s first full port visit of the deployment. Sailors and Marines were able to spend time ashore in the resort city of Pattaya before the carrier resumed its journey.<\/p>\n
The Lincoln\u2019s return comes as the U.S. Navy continues rotating aircraft carriers through the Middle East and other strategic regions.<\/p>\n
