Senator Ted Cruz said on NBC News that the Republican Party has not yet chosen its 2028 presidential nominee or fully coalesced around Vice President JD Vance.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Hours after campaigning against Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed of Michigan, Vance addressed concerns about his views on Jews and Israel during an event with the Republican Jewish Coalition, a group of influential political activists and donors.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">When Vance spoke with RJC members at the Venetian in Las Vegas, reporters were kept out of the room. However, CNN reported that it obtained audio of Vance\u2019s remarks from a person who attended the roughly 45-minute \u201cfireside chat\u201d with Norm Coleman.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Coleman, a former Minnesota senator, is the national chairman of the RJC board.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">At one point, Vance addressed \u201csome of the obvious elephants in the room,\u201d referring to growing skepticism among young people about the U.S.-Israel relationship.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-420\" src=\"https:\/\/capitalfeed.news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/grok-image-ed65927b-9acf-4292-9414-00b0c6659c4d-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/capitalfeed.news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/grok-image-ed65927b-9acf-4292-9414-00b0c6659c4d-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/capitalfeed.news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/grok-image-ed65927b-9acf-4292-9414-00b0c6659c4d-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/capitalfeed.news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/grok-image-ed65927b-9acf-4292-9414-00b0c6659c4d-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/capitalfeed.news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/grok-image-ed65927b-9acf-4292-9414-00b0c6659c4d-1536x1024.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/capitalfeed.news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/grok-image-ed65927b-9acf-4292-9414-00b0c6659c4d.jpg 1728w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Vance said Republicans need to \u201cactually get out there and talk about the ways in which it is in the best interest of the United States of America.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2>RJC chairman asks why Vance appeared on controversial media platforms<\/h2>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">According to the report, Vance did not take questions from the audience, but the moderated conversation touched on the sensitive subject of his media appearances.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Coleman asked Vance how he decides which media platforms or personalities to appear with.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Coleman specifically mentioned Tucker Carlson, Megyn Kelly, Joe Rogan and Nick Fuentes, saying the figures have provided platforms to people accused of promoting antisemitic views.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Carlson was mentioned because he has argued that the U.S. should no longer treat Israel as an ally.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Vance responded that he understood people in the room might disagree with things Carlson, Kelly or Rogan have said. He distinguished Rogan from Fuentes, saying they are \u201cvery, very different\u201d people.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">\u201cI recognize a lot of people in this room might disagree with things that Tucker Carlson or Megyn Kelly or Joe Rogan has said,\u201d Vance said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Fuentes, who identifies as a white nationalist and Holocaust denier, was hosted by President Trump at his Mar-a-Lago residence in 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Vance otherwise defended his engagement with the media personalities, saying Republicans need \u201cto be willing to go everywhere and bring our message anywhere and to any person.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>JD Vance\u2019s statements in recent months have fueled skepticism over whether he would maintain the traditionally strong U.S. support for Israel if he runs for president in 2028.
